Product Overview

Ceramic band heaters string ceramic insulating blocks and resistance wire into a flexible band housed in a stainless-steel shell, tightened at both ends by bolts around the barrel. Expansion gaps between blocks prevent cracking from thermal expansion at high temperature, reaching 650°C—well above mica types.

The inner shell is polished; tighter contact with the barrel improves heat transfer. In practice we recommend a layer of thermal grease or graphite foil to cut contact resistance. Terminal boxes are metal or ceramic; leads use high-temperature fiberglass or ceramic sleeves, with ceramic terminals preferred above 400°C long-term.

Band width runs 25–200 mm, ID 40–600 mm, and can be zoned along the barrel with independent control per zone. Injection nozzles, flange zones, and extruder sections need different temperatures, so zoned heating controls melt quality better than one high-power section.
